Thanks Chris ! Chris found what several mechanics couldn't. It took longer than anticipated, and bad news, but a relief to finally know what the problem is. Still looking for another car and would be glad to bring my new one in for a pre-buy diagnostic but it couldn't take hours bec the buyer will be waiting with me. Need an estimate if this is something you do.
